CBSN's Elaine Quijano became the first Asian American to moderate a general election debate.

The third person onstage with Tim Kaine & Mike Pence in tonight's vice presidential debate was Elaine Quijano.   The anchor for CBSN, the CBS News 24-hour digital streaming network, is Filipina-American!

At age 42, Elaine Quijano is the youngest journalist to moderate a debate on the national stage since Judy Woodruff in 1988.

My twelve-year old daughter was eating her dinner during the debate.  I called her attention when Elaine Quijano came on TV.

My daughter said, "She's beautiful."

I said, "Brains & beauty!"
