OLYMPIA, Washington — Gov. Jay Inslee on March 22 named retired Navy Vice Admiral Raquel C. Bono, a Filipino American, as Washington state director for COVID-19 Health System Response Management. She will advise the governor and state agencies on how to address the pandemic.The Philippine-born Bono, the first woman surgeon in the military to hold the rank of vice admiral, is currently a senior fellow with the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. -- Inquirer.net
