Bree Bangolan, a J-1 visa holder, lost her paid internship program after the hotel that sponsored her in Louisville, Kentucky closed due to the pandemic. Bangolan and other J-1 visa holders have been getting help from the community for groceries and rent payments, but she says it’s still a struggle to make ends meet.
