Light The Night

My name is Bernadette Rivera and 2016 marks the 7th year that my family and friends have participated in the Light the Night walk in memory of my late husband, Leo Rivera. Leo lost his battle with leukemia just before Christmas 2009, leaving behind our 3 daughters, who were 2, 4 and 6 years old at the time. Each year, we have gathered at this walk to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the amazing work they do and to celebrate what an amazing person Leo was. This year, I've decided to start this booster campaign and sell shirts to help raise funds to donate to the LLS.

If you look at the design on the shirts, you will see all the things that were important to Leo: his daughters, his Filipino pride and sports. If you are joining us at the Light the Night walk this year, which will be at Soldier Field on October 22, 2016, please buy a shirt so we can all wear them that night. If you cannot join us at the walk, please consider buying a shirt and supporting our team from afar.

The Light The Night Walk is a fundraising campaign benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their funding of research to find blood cancer cures.

It's about Community

Coming together for a common goal, friends, families and co-workers form fundraising walk teams. Millions of consumers also help by donating at retail outlets. Culminating in inspirational and memorable evening walks every fall, participants in nearly 200 communities across North America join together carrying illuminated lanterns to take steps to end cancer.

It's about Funding Research

Nationally, Light The Night participants raise an average of $250. Raise $1,000 or more to become a member of our Bright Lights Club. Together, Bright Lights Club members raised more than $17.2 million last year in support of our mission. Join the club that is funding cures today and you will receive special recognition!
